my friend and I are having this argument, and we are trying to figure out if polos are fitting for a dressy casual event. let me know what you think!
dude, what about an actual solo in death metal instead of that poof from linkin park. Think of Pulse of the Maggots - Bed Of Razors

not really. for a "dressy casual" thing i would probably just were some sort of short sleeve button down shirt, but i might do it with jeans.

you would probably be able to wear a polo shirt if you wore some sort of dress pants.
#12
I would say yes, but if there is any doubt just dress nicer. I find it better to over dress than to under dress.

If you want to get really technical about it..

1. Grab sticks.
2. Bang sticks on drums.

Polo shirts are never acceptable wear unless you're playing sport.

As long as it's not pastel. If you are wearing a pastel-colored polo anywhere, you are a douche. It's just a fact. Dark polos are fine.

Urgh what is wrong with you people? Polo shirts are awful.

I don't know, my mother drank a lot when she was pregnant with me. I'll make it up to you! Tomorrow I'll wear my polo with popped collars! Doesn't that make you feel good?

Matters what sort of polo. My victorinox, Fred perry (limited edition ones) and a few other polos look smart, but then I've got cheaper ones that I just wear under a nice jacket, bit of knitwear.

Wear a nice cashmere jumper over the top and its quite smart.

Twin tip polos (fred perrys etc.) should always have the top button done up, makes it look infinitely better

80% of the answers in The Pit will be band shirt related.

Fred Perry polo shirts. Look rather swish if you ask me.
Ibanez RG350DX
Randall RH150G3
Harley Benton Cab (Shut up.)
Roland Cube 60
Dunlop Wah Wah Pedal.

The mass produced ones look ****e nowdays, wash up pretty badly and all. Get the Made In England ones and you're sorted. Burgundy with gold tips, looks the business.
#34
Yes but AE and Abercrombie have ruined the perception of Polo shirts. They're suppose to be comfortable and not skin tight.

AE and AB scrwed it all up by making pink and light blue shirts, that hug your skin. Now all you need is a fake tan and hair gelled up so much that your spikes can puncture a soccer ball. Manly enough for you?

thanks for the responses. This kid is insane, listen to this:

Me: If 50% of the people said yes it is acceptable and 50% said no, then waht would that mean?
Him: It means 50% of the people are ignorant
Me: That is one interpretation. Is there another?
Him: No
Me: (thinking he just wasnt thinking) Could it mean that maybe there is ambigiuity in what is considered acceptable?
Him: Of course not. 50% of the people are ignorant

He isnt joking.
