Well UG, I finally did it. I found my perfect tone, or as best as I could get, given what I have. It took me forever to find it, but this is finally it.

I am running my Epiphone Casino through my Digitech RP-350, through my Cube. Not the best I know, but it’s all I have. I will be getting a Kustom Double Barrel for Christmas, and then saving up for a Peavey Classic 30. I already have $60 from my B-day and I usually get a lot more $ at Christmas. So things are looking good.

Anyway, to recap, my rig is:

Epiphone Casino ---> Digitech RP-350 ---> Cube

I have my Casino EQ’d so on Treble pu, I have a nice 60’s jangle-pop (monkees, byrds, zombies, etc.). Both pu’s, I have a nice glam-rock (Bowie, G&R, Cheap Trick, etc.). On Rhythm pu, I have a nice mellow jazz or blues sound.

My Cube is set to a general bright voicing, and my RP-350 is set kinda weird.

Anyway, the way I set everything is below.

This is my rig for now. And I plan on using the Peavey Classic 30 instead of the Cube or amp models. I plan to use actual pedals instead of models, once I get enough money. I eventually plan to eliminate my RP-350 from my rig as a pedal, but will still keep it around as a writing tool. *shrugs*

So what do y'all think of my rig and settings?

People were starting to steal my settings so I deleted them (from the page, not my processor). I thought UG had enough class not to steal someone's work.

I was epic-ally wrong....

Who cares if someone steals your settings? I don't see the point in keeping something like that a secret to everyone else, it might help others with the same gear enjoy it instead of giving up on it and selling it.

But anyway, cool man. So far my Ampeg is about as close to the tone I envision for myself, and it's the cheapest amp I've bought

I don't really see the point in getting the Kustom and then getting the Classic 30 when you could just put your money toward the Classic 30, unless you have an in-store credit thing and they don't stock them or something like that.

Raijuta, I'm getting the Kustom as a replacement for my dying Cube, and using the Kustom as my practice amp, and my soon-to-be Classic 30 as my gig amp.

I would post clips but all I have to record is my cell phone, and I'm running a Windows 98 on dial-up internet connection.

Don't hold your breath on the clips...

Otherwise I would.
#15
I don't understand what's holding you back... You have an internet connection and a recording medium. having dialup doesn't matter, because once you get the clip processed and all that, it won't be much bigger than a few MB, and it'll take about 10 minutes to upload onto UG. That's not long at all (for dialup )

To the TS: if you're anything like me, you will be searching for "better tone" soon. If I had a Diezel, a Soldono, a Mesa, a Marshall, a Gibson LP, etc.... I'd still be wanting more. I'm never satisfied.

And settings don't mean squat (usually). It starts and ends with your fingers, dude. So if someone "steals" your settings, I'm pretty sure they're going to sound different anyway.

Playing a Cube, as good as they are, over a Gemini.... It's like a shoebox compared to the Arc of the Covenant. A Pinto compared to a Lambo... The Olson twins compared to the DoubleMint twins... The Raiders coaching staff compared to the Raiderette's. At least in some peoples minds...

But hey, as long as you like it that's all that matters Neptune.

My Ampeg has single handly cured all the GAS I had for a high gain amp. As far as im concerned it doesnt get any better. And the fact that its cheap as hell and SS is about as crazy as seeing Jesus walk on water lol. Simply amazing amp.
