I'm buying a Johnson strat copy from a friend for like 20 or 10 bucks. I plan on making it a frankenstrat and making other things look cool. Is it possible to use like silver paint to make custom inlays?

What else should I change on it?

if you use paint on the fret board, be ready for it to rub off. it will.
you certainly should repaint it, new pickups, the basics. maybe even modify the body itself.

I'm buying it as a guitar to mess around with. I'm talking about cosmetic upgrades, so no pickups. I might consider altering the body shape slightly but I don't want to completely ruin it.
