For the past 4 years I've been plugging in my $1200 Ibanez SA Prestige into a crappy $250 Roland Cube 30.

I think it's time for an upgrade, don't you?

Now I'd rather not spend more than $1200 or so. I tend to play music in the style of these bands: Opeth, Tool, Dream Theater, Rush, and Joe Satriani

Now the thing is, I know a lot about guitars that would fit this musical style well (but I already have a great guitar for this). However, I'm lost when it comes to amps. What would suit me well?

For a little bit more check out the Bogner Alchemist - absolutely perfect for that style, i play a lot of rush and played one in a shop an dit just nailed it.
