I have a Peavey 6505+ with an extreme crap cab...so i need a new one!
i play hardcore/metal (hence the head) what kind of cab/speakers should i be going for?
3 cabs i have the option to buy....
a randall cab with 2, 12" vintage 30 speakers, and a 15" Eminence Legend speaker... 320 watts, 8 ohms, mono only...
or
another randall, also with V-30s, but its a 4x12, choice of ohmage, 4, 8, 16, not sure the wattage,
or
peavey 5150 cab

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.

You can get a used Mesa cabinet for 500 if you can find one.

Otherwise
VADER
Peavey VTM
Marshall 8412
Fender 4x12 loaded with t75's
Epiphone LP-100
Fender Stratocaster Highway one

A 2x12+1x15 cab would have crazy bass but isn't quite guitar material. Otherwise... go with what everyone else said.

There are no genres in metal that end with "core."
