I am about to purchase a used RR1 and I'm wondering how/where I can find out what year it is from the serial number(the number etched onto the frets, right above the neck pickup). The number is U14998 if that means anything.

i think their website has something on it

if not google "Jackson serial number" orsomthing like that and im pretty sure fan made sites will have more details

you may have the wrong serial number
otherwise, my guess is the serial number is U04998 and then it would be a 1997 model, if it is U14998 it is probably a 2004 or 2005 based on the serial numbers given
