2 days ago my computer was returned from Geek Squad and the had a new hardrive installed.
Now my computer isnt loading.
It goes to the screen where its black with a loading bar and it never loads.
Any ideas on what has happened?
The only things i have added are things i took off a usb drive that came from another computer.one that is working fine mind you, and i know because its my own other computer.
The working computer is WinXP the failing computer is WinVista

Geek squad. There's your problem.

Geek squad sucks, they spend more time looking for porn stashes on your hd than trying to fix anything. Assuming they're capable of fixing anything.

geek squad is essentially a scam. Their hiring requirements are laughably less than stellar.

re-install windows, if not, flash your bios then reinstall windows

They probably give you a 30-day warranty for their services, so give them a call.

I will laugh if they didn't put any OS, it would be typical.

Oh hello Mr. elitist,

He called geek squad to install a new hard drive, you seriously think he can flash his BIOS, let alone install windows?

I once asked the Geek Squad for help setting up a wireless network in our house between two PCs and a Mac. Nobody knew what a Mac was.

Thats just rediculous.

Anyway OP, first things first, go back to geek squad, demand your money back or demand that they actually fix the damn thing for free. Legal threats if necessary. Otherwise they literally just stole your money.

Haha I can't boot my computer with my memory stick in.

Was throwing me for loops until I thought to remove it and now it works fine.

I've done it too,

TS is quiet, probably a bit too embarrased to say thank you

How dare you say such things? The Mac is cutting-edge; that guy from Dodgeball says so.

I didnt have the usb in.
It still isn't starting up.

What i think is the problem is when its on the loading screen the indicator light
(the stack of disks icon found on most Windows laptops) i not blinking or glowing or anything.
Isially when i start up this blinks like crazy.

I brought it to geek squad because it broke, and wouldnt start up.
But this is a whole new type of start up problem.
It was a free thing too.
They decided my old hardrive had to be replaced altogether.
They put a new one in.

I do know how to format my comouter and reinstall windows, thats pretty basic.
I HATE having geek squad fix the problem, but it was free with the computer and my parents said they would not let me just reinstall windows.

Hate Geek Squad.
Tell your parents to shove a fat one and let you fix the comp.
Tell the geek squad to shove a fat one and that you want them to have to pay for the gas to get that computer to that forsaken wasteland of technological antiknowledge that is the Best Buy in the first freakin place...

Thank you for listening to my rant.
