Alright well im 15 years old and loooking for anew guitar. I was going to get a mockingbird masterpice but you all bombed it with ****ty reviews so im looking elsewhere. I came accross a used epiphone flying v for $400. I believe its a Epiphone Korina 56 model. Seeing how you all think of this, heres the info and a picture. Also, im 15 and in a thrash/prog metal band. Coming from a low end B.C rich

Well pretty much anything is better than a low end BC Rich, but personally I really like these guitars, for the price they play/feel great. Just make sure there are no cracks/pot fuzz/wiggly hardware or anything before buying.

It gets good to great reviews, my only concern would be that you can get a brand new one for only about $ 99 more- why so much for the used one? Seems like the hundred bucks might be worth it not to worry what the last owner did / didn't do to it.

But that is a nice looking guitar.

ya agreed a little overpriced, but i would snag that one.
and i agree about the loose hardware, fuzzy pots thing, but dont worry a ton about it, thats not too too hard to fix. but for that price, it should be damn near mint.

I agree completely with this. I'm pretty sure they're only a hundred more brand new, so I would try to shoot for a new one or look elsewhere.

Other than that I'd go for it. It's a pretty sick guitar.

For me shipping + instruments ddoes not work. And to mention the price to ship it would be realllly overpriced. This guitar is mint and not all that old and i think its a decent price.
#16
oh man true that. im in ottawa, and everything costs sooo much more here. i think 500 would be standard price for like an epi SG, i dunno bout a flying V cuz steve's never has em, but gibsons are about 1000. and shipping is nuts usally, plus when u add tax and duty because its from the states, that can be like an extra 50 bucks or more! so im not sure, i would say go for it.
#17
Go for it. Its a 58 Korina. Ebony finish, gold hardware and I would go new but if you tried it out already, and it seems perfect to you...do the obvious.
