better quality control, higher quality wood and pickups, stronger necks, better bridges.

American Fender = Less Landscapers

Any Mexican UG'ers please don't be offended. It's a case of simple economics. Supply & Demand vs. labor costs.

I am Mexican. you can call my people cheap labor, but don't call us landscapers please. we do what we are paid to do. As well as we can.

just so you know, I am deeply offended anyway.

Sorry to get your panties all up in a wad. I would hope that you are as offended by the landscaper remark as I am. The point I was trying to make is that there is plenty of cheap labor out there... much of it comes from Mexico, or the Orient... Just the truth here.

I certainly did not mean to stereotype, which is why I posted the edit. Simply because you were offended I know that you are among the people who PRIDE themselves on their hard work, and I thank you for it.

That said... I'm sure that you know where I'm coming from. It's a shame that these reputable companies make cheaper (price and quality) guitars in countries where they can find cheaper labor. Just so that they can produce a product with a lower price point that still has their name on it.

Again... sorry if you took it the wrong way.

don't the US models have better tuners and a string-thru bridge, as well?
Fact: Bears eat beats. Bears beats Battlestar Galactica.

The bridge is better, but I'm not sure about the tuners.

There's not one thing that the MIM does better than the MIA. Not one thing that's equal on them, too.

EDIT: Must... not... comment... on... threadstarter... whose... name... is... RIP Cliff RIP... and... has.... Epi... Goth... T-Bird....

You're right... But I'd much rather have an American Strat than a MIM. The hardware is better.

Much the same reason that it's an EX-wife.
