One question. Who really needs 27 frets??!!??!!?!!?

Aside from that, they look (and hopefully will sound) awesome.

My Caparison has 27 frets and while I may not use them that often, a) it's a cool detail and b) because the cut away is shaped to allow people to reach the 27th fret, the upper fret access on the 24th is superb.

Why 27 frets on the Xiphos? Not only does it seem excessive, but that's an awkward number too.

EDIT: Ok, but why 27? Why not make it an even 28 or 30?

That way you can get a really high G on the E string; it's more obvious than 26 or 28

Well, 28 would be a bit weird, since that would give you a G# as a highest note. The reason why 27 is about as high as you can go is because otherwise the frets become too small to play.

Very disappointing. That PGM is horrible.

There might be more, like a PGM20th (possibly the Fireman).

Dammit, I just bought a 2550Z and now they come out with one with a maple neck? BS, that makes me angry. O well, rosewood isn't that bad, and it looks better for the guitar

That orange PGM won't be coming if it is they have kept it completely under wraps.

That 24 fret Xiphos looks like something Trey Azagthoth would use...

The PGM shocked me at first, but I'm really starting to dig it.

The lower end Xiphos is a good idea imo: since it's one of the cheaper crazy-shaped Ibanez, it might attract more people from the beginner-medium level metal crowd.

EDIT: that Andy Timmons sig guitar....
Now I'm just waiting for Ibanez to make a signature guitar of Dave Weiner's HSS RG7...

EDIT2: it's pretty nice to see the Destroyer making a comeback, I'm not a fan of the finish though.

I'm kind of annoyed that they're discontinuing the PGM301, that suggests that the 401 (or the fireman if it does come out, hopefully it should.) will be replacing it, and I prefered the 301, I mean 2 humbuckers never sat well with me anyway, and the 401 is one of my least prefered PGMs, though I still love it

The maple necks are also a dissapointment, those inlays look terrible on them.

I'm stiill looking forward to the new JEM too, heavily hinted at a hardtail, though I'm not sure it'll be as simple as that.

Probably different color (black ) and an Edge Zero trem.

But finally, maple fretboards. Sweet.
