i was wondering if there are any esp ax owners here who think that the ax 260 that they bought was worth the money as a heavey metal guitar.

those are discontinued aren't they ?

I guess it's worth the money, but really only if you change the pickups and don't play a lot of Shred Metal and such. It's a very good Metal guitar, but it's really not that great feeling for shredding, and the stock pickups (ESP LH-301) are terrible.

@mikey:
no this model is not discontinued. it actually replaced the ltd ax-250.

@eclipse:
what if i change them to EMG hz4 passives as i dont want to spend money on actives and this guitar couldnt have them because of no spot for the batteries. with the hz4 would it be better for shredding?

k, that's the one i was thinking of.

swapping the pups for HZ's wont make much difference(if any at all), they're both mediocre pickup sets.
