But theres only one problem. When I hook it up, the only sound a get is that buzz, you know the one i'm talking about. so how do I make my guitar sound go through the pedal and into the amp?

More details:
It's power jack is a little messed up, but if i wiggle it i get the buzz. also, the power light on it won't turn on, even though it has power.

Just joking around, just out of curiosity what kind of pedal is it?
But yeah, if you want it that bad take to a music shop and have them look at it.
Or maybe the battery is almost dead?

so are you saying your just gettin a hum, and there isnt any noise coming from your guitar?

if so, maybe you should check to make sure your cables are going to the right output/inputs...as retarded as it sounds, ive done it before....but only when i was high as a kite

if thats all good, then it makes sense why your friend gave it to you.

That's exactly what i'm saying. Just double checked my cables.
Guitar-->pedal-->amp.

it still could be hooked up in that fashion, and be backwards...trust me ive done it hahaha.

if you cant figure it out...looks like you got a new pedal to mod/**** with...or you could just get it fixed

Edit: its just weird that your not getting any sound if its hooked up right. sounds like its fried to me. maybe re wire it? wouldnt cost ya much if your handy with a soldering iron

Check and double check all your connections within the pedal. Keep your amp on and everything plugged in and keep your guitar strings vibrating. If it a loose connect, in theory you'll be able to find it when you here the sound of your guitar coming through. Then re-solder that one connection back and good as new.

Just make sure your friend doesn't find out you fixed it.
