I know it's a Telecaster, it's made in japan sometime between 1985-1987, but I don't know the exact model, like if it's just a made in japan or a japan esquire, or what ever. Here's the serial

www.fender.com

you can authenticate it on the website by the serial number and get quite a bit of info on it there

I looked but couldn't find that stuff.

It's a 62' or 54' Esquire reissue.
What fretboard does it have?

The neck was beaten beyond the view of god. So needless to say that's no longer with us.

Well there was a serial number number under the bolt on plate on the actual body, everything on the neck was unidentifiable.

ya i think thats where they would put it but could you just tell if it was a light wood or dark wood for the fretboard id think that would be kinda obvious

Well its either a 62' or 54' Esquire reissue.
That's as far as you can get, unless you sandpaper the neck and see what fretboard it has. If it is maple you have a 54' Esquire reissue, if it is a rosewood, it is a 62' Esquire reissue.
