I have had two guitars, one to learn on, the second i bought because i was stupid, and now i want to get a new (to me at least) one that i can rely on to sound good and not break down on me.
so, hows this?

i play bass in my band but i like to have a guitar to play around on at home.
what i want to know is:
is this guitar worth the money?
will it break if i dont treat it like crap?
and
is there anywhere else to get a cheaper one?

thanks in advance for all replies

I stay away from Squiers as a rule; their beginner guitars, generally not made to become a heavy-use axe.

Now then, budget, genre(s), influence(s), and artist sound(s) you want?

Not much I can recommend that'll hold up for more than a year or so before you realize it's bad, or at least if you've been playing long enough on bass that you'll be a decent guitarist as well(if it works the same for a bass-guitar transfer as a guitar-bass transfer that is). Can you look used?

200 USD will buy you a basic schecter or ibanez. try stay away from cheap ibanez guitars if you treat it like **** because you will find that you are re tuning it every few days.
