Ok. I just turned my laptop on, I got a popup from Kaspersky Internet Security 8 that my databases were corrupted and it couldn't function because of that.

I try to update it, but its just not updating atall and telling me that its corrupted again.

Anyone know ANYTHING about Kaspersky that's gonna help me???

Thanks a lot.

Yeah. I don't choose the protection, cause my dad picks it and gets a family licence for it, cause it's cheaper than getting 3 licenses.

Find a folder called: system32

And delete it. It's been known to affect Kaspersky, due to some features Window has pre-built within the OS and anti-virus protection. After that, restart the computer, and boot it in safe mode. Then try uninstalling it, and restart again. It should be good as new.

I tried..

Get rid of it though. AVG works. And it's free.

Yeah, but there's nothing technically wrong with my computer thanks to Kaspersky. It's just ****ed up...a little....well a lot.

I tried but its not allowing it to install. It says it cannot put a folder in Documents and settings/All users/kaspersky lab/bases (where it does the updates, i believe). It said to verify i had access to it.

Also, i keep getting pop ups in the taskbar saying there are corrupted files and I should run chdsk utility. Also its not letting me do a system restore.

Thinkin maybe I got a trojian/worm?

I'm currently downloading avast. It should tide me over until I can format my computer (for the 2nd time in a month)

If you'd stop looking at porn and beating it 7 times a day you wouldn't have this problem!

I haven't looked at porn for about a week, and i only use streaming sites, which...i guess are no safer, but ah well.

I've managed to re-install kaspersky, and its now updating the databases, thankfully.

The problem with AVG free is it's just virus scanning. There's no virus PROTECTION or firewall.

Seriously.

I remember I once had this anti-virus program called Bulldog - or something like that- and it was real eye candy. It also was the crappiest anti-virus experience I can recall.

I started to do a virus scan, it started eating all my RAM, etc. I had to go into task manager to end task it cause it wasn't responding.
