hi guys i know very little about amps but a friend has given me the chance of a 100watt marshall amp for 50 quid but i am only gonna use it for bedroom practice and a 5 watt to 15 watt would do for me,i know i could just turn the volume way down on it but it seems pointless to get an amp with this much power if i am not in need of it.what should i do?

Well 100 watts usually will sound like crap at low volumes. Thats just the way tube amps are. Although if it's a good marshall you could get some good tones out of it and I'd keep it for recordings or maybe gigging later on. I wish I would have not sold all the stuff I had in the past.
