hey, wondering if anyone can give some tips on how to get a Mick Mars (Motley Crue) type of tone, e.g. Amp Settings and stuff

My Equipment = Carvin Master Tube Series 3200 combo, Tokai Les Paul LS60

I like my equipment but just wondering what i could do

The LP should work as he used them. Not sure of the pickups and I know he was a Kramer endorser and used the Baretta and a Tele-shaped custom with Girls Girls Girls written on it if I'm correct. Tune to D standard as I believe that was his choice of tuning but after looking at this link.....good luck

Hey thanks, that is one hell of a rig

and yeah i normally tune D anyway

DiMarzio Super Distortion pickups. Marshall JCM800. That should be enough to get you started, gear-wise.

In terms of settings, scoop your mids a little, dial in a bit more bass and put the gain at around 5-7

all right, JCM 800 is kinda out of the question lol

but how much middle then, around 3? or 4, i know depends on the amp but anyway
