i have a blackstar ht-dist which i love. despite its great sound it has always been unreliable. recently its been getting worse but i have realised a strange pattern to it. When i play a loud note with the pedal bypassed, the guitar volume drops. sometimes merely touching the bypass switch fixes the problem. sometimes i have to press it a few times to get the volume right. sometimes it just doesnt work at all. also i notice the tone is duller around when this happens.

what is wrong with my pedal?

I think you need to change the bypass switch,
and modify it to true bypass (if it isnt already).
It could just be a dodgy connection
Unless your experienced with taking pedals to bits etc, ide probably take it to your local music shop or electronics repairer to check it over
