what types of scales does he use (if any)?
how can i get his shreddy sound and tone without spending loads on pedals and so on?

Can we ban people who make these threads? They're so obnoxious.

This is exactly what I said in the John Petrucci thread.

knowing the scales he uses will not help you play like him. Knowing the chord progressions he plays, his phrasing, and his techniques will.

Please grow up. The question might be silly, but if they have to ask, they obviously don't know better.

TS, I think you know what you should do at this point. Learn your theory, analyze his playing, and after that, come back with any questions.
