Just out of complete curiosity

What type of straps do the folks of GG&A prefer? I hear a lot of differeing opinions, so I'm curious.

I'm a leather man myself (Levy's FTW- I have one from the 70's )

So guys, which do you like better?

Mainly not leather, my Clapton has a plain black nylon, my Tele is a tweed Fender one and my other Strat is a black Planet Waves one. The only leather one I have is an SRV type on my Lester.

EB nylon

might look into an epically wide leather one, 3 hours with a fender jazz hanging off me by a 2" strap is starting to hurt =/
Get off this damn forum and play your damn guitar.

Yeah, that's why I really like leather....

Also, it doesn't slide around while moving onstage

EDIT: Minibrowny, how's tweed do for you? I've never tried a tweed strap before...

i like nylon. some leather straps i like, but those are expensive and hard to come by. usually, they have the suede under it, which i hate. i cant move the guitar around my shoulder comfortably becuase it's like sticky or something.

Bit slidey, but yeah its nice, durable etc.

Well I'm poor so I use Dunlop nylon straps. I have the Celtic green strap for my acoustic and for Christmas I'm going to get a black strap with grommets for my Strat

If I had the money I would get those glove leather straps. That would be heavenly

I like the Levy's military-grade 2" cotton straps

Haven't gotten to use those yet......

Are those the ones with the suede bottom?

You don't need to think to much into this man. Just go to the guitar store and feel a guitar strap that you think looks good. if you like the way it feels chances are you'll use it. I've got an expensive strap now but really I was fine back when I had those cheap ass 5 dollar straps. It's really no different.

Methinks thou hath misunderstood the point of my thread......

I don't need a strap. I was just wondering what the good people of GG&A use.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
