Is the headphone jack for the Boss BR-600 1/4" or is it like a ipod headphone size? And with the built in mics, can I play through my amp and have the 600 pick it up? or do I need to get a mic seperate to mic my amp?

i would reccomend a different mic.. like an SM-57.. i would also recommend a different recorder, like a tascam or something. I have never been attracted to the BR-600... feels very cheap...

or go vintage and get a roland vs 1680.. thats what i use

Thanks for the feedback but Ive researched and Ive kinda got my heart set on the BR-600 (plus its a gift and its already been bought I think). I was just wondering if thats possible to do without buying a new mic (which I will do eventually). Ive got no problem plugging straight into the unit but i was curious if I could use my new amp for some recording as well.

its definitely possible, but i'm 100% positive its just a cheapo condenser mic. it'll be great for jotting down ideas and stuff whenever inspiration strike or when you just want to record some jam sessions for reviewing later..

but if you want it to sound good, you'll absolutely need to pick up some good mics.

hope this helps!

^ Thank you, that does help (hard to get a straight answer on this site lol). So the condesner mics one option, but i can also plug straight into the BR-600 and use head phones too right? (1/4" or smaller?)
