Alright, i'm getting a crate v33 for christmas, and I was wondering if it is possible to geta a metallica/megadeth-ish tone out of it.

ehh, not really. If you want a higher gain amp, look at the B-52 at112, they just had a huge price drop
...

it cant i once thought that my blackheart can do metal with a metal muff but it still cant do the metal that i play using my XXX

you could use the MXR as a clean boost by turning it's distortion knob all the way down
periphery/bulb!
