Alright, i'm getting a crate v33 for christmas, and I was wondering if it is possible to geta a metallica/megadeth-ish tone out of it.

btw, I have a MXR classic dist. pedal
Gibson Les Paul Traditional
Crate V33 212 Combo
DigiTech Whammy IV
Dunlop Crybaby
MXR Classic Distortion
Ibanez DE-7 Delay
Boss GE-7 Equalizer

ehh, not really. If you want a higher gain amp, look at the B-52 at112, they just had a huge price drop
With the pedal it should be possible.
Stage Rig

Fender Strat
Epi Les Paul
Taylor 110
Boss TU-2
Omega Amps Hot Rod Deluxe (Dumble mod)
Clean/Drive/More Drive footswitch
Mid boost/Preamp boost footswitch

Not really, turning it up helps though
you'll need a pedal for thrash

you could use the MXR as a clean boost by turning it's distortion knob all the way down

Head and Cab for $130? You don't need a head and cabinet, you need a psychological examination.
