Now, i need some advice on what gear to get.

My current setup is an Ibanez RG321, run into a Vox ad50-vt 212.

I can get very nice cleans with this setup, but the distortion isn't doing it for me at all.
I know not to expect much in the means of heavy distortion from the amp without a pedal of some sort, so i figured "why not just get a new amp"

Because i know that i could better everything with a better amp.

But i thought of just getting a better guitar with a higher output bridge pickup.

I play just about every thing from folk, to blues, to classic rock, to death metal.

A clean tone I've admired has been Mikael's from Opeth, and i can almost hit it with my current setup.

and for a distorted tone, say what you will, but i love the rhythm tone from Bullet For My valentine off their album the Poison.

Two channels would be nice, but one would be fine.
And I have a budget of between 600 and 800 USD, but if its necessary I'll wait to get a bit more.
Also, I'm willing to go used.

I forgot to say, 120 watts is probably way more power than I'll need.
I don't gig, I play in my bedroom and occasionally jam with other people.
