I recently bought a Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany, and nearly everything about it is perfect, but i find the strap buttons are too small and I'm afraid if i put a strap on it my guitar will fall and get damaged. So I'm going to Guitar Center today to shop for a strap lock system. What would be the best to get, one thats easy to install and works great, something $25 or under would be nice.

Also would it be a good idea to get a levy's suede leather strap?

I use the Schaller strap locks that came with my guitar and they've never failed me.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

I have used dunlop ones before and they stick out a little, than i switched to Clip Locks, by Dimarzio and they dont stick out at all, and im not switching to any other system, so i would suggest the clip locks. EDIT : they cost 20 and come with a strap also.

i use the dunlops and have had 0 problems with them. they do stick out a tiny bit, but not bad, and i actually like the space they create by the bridge to loop my cord around when playing live. they clip in easy, hold very tight and i like the clips it uses to hold the locking part on the strap over the screws other brands use that tend to get loose. the other guitarist in my band uses the schallers(at least they look 100% identical, cannot say with 100% confidence they are them, but im pretty sure) and we've had the little pull knobs fall off both of them, and broke one off a second time. the bolt holding them on gets loose from time to time and i'd say one a month we have to tighten them, at least. they were easily repairable, but still, it made that show a bitch getting his strap on, and its a little scary when a $1200 guitar almost drops because a bolt is loose on your strap.

sorry to hijack the thread, but are ernie ball straplocks any good?
