well i tryed it with two guitars passive and active pickups and iam gettin the same problem. it usually happens when i have the volume way up. also when i have it set to clean it breaks up. could it be the preamp???

Turn the volume down when you're not playing. Consider getting a noise gate though.

Whats your gain set at man? If its clean and its breaking up that just means that your using up all the headroom, how loud exactly are you playing.

are you facing the amp?

Try using your longest lead and stand as far from the amp as possible...

how close are you to the amp? thats usually the problem. Or maybe pre amp, or noise gate as mentioned above ^
