Hey

I just checked on my esp that im getting for christmas, (one in the sig) I noticed that it was slightly out of tune, I thought nothing of it but then I looked at the back of the headstock, and noticed a hairline crack between two of the tuners.
I haven't noticed this before, so it has to be relatively new, is it anything to worry about?

Nice current guitar/amp set up man.
And to stay on topic, there is definately a chance that is a problem, some pics would be very helpful.

Thanks

I'll get pictures in a few minutes, it doesn't seem like a problem, I just dont want a guitar that cost that much to be hindered by it.

It doesnt open or anything, and when you run your finger over it, you can feel it.

The crack doesnt show up on camera, but ive highlighted where it is.

so would a hairline crack between those two tuners have an effect?

And to contradict my other post, you can actually feel the hairline crack.

Well, if you can't see it on camera, it's probably not down to the wood (I can't spot any anomalies, anyway).

Seems to me like a finish crack, but I can't tell for sure.

Thats good then

When I got the guitar, I didn't know if it was an Eclipse 2, all i knew was that it was an 08 model, but it turned out to be an Eclipse I CTM. I tried to get information of ESP by emailing them, and they still haven't got back to me. I tried to register on their forums and it wont let me post :/ .
Its like getting blood from a stone haha, thanks for everyones help

USe an ultra-violet light source and check out the crak to see how bad it is! UV's really reveal crack details well. I have a small one used to check money out for the embedded threads in the paper and it works like a charm for inspections.
Moving on.....

if its not so bad where it dont chow up on camera then you shouldnt have to worry bout it but if your still worried then go to your local guitar center and have someone chack it out better safe then sorry you know
