Hey guys I have an LTD Mh-1000 with a 59' and a JB and I play through a Randall Rx75r. The 59' is really muddy and I was wondering if the SD Jazz would be a better pickup in its place. I am sort of exploring all genres now but I would like a pickup that has a really good clean tone and a really good tone for metal leads.

Would the pickup really make a difference or should I just save up for a better amp?

If you don't like your amp save for a new one, but if you like your amp, and just want a better neck tone, a different pup might help

I was thinking of going for a tube amp in the 500ish range. The peavey valveking 112 looked good but I heard many bad things about , I haven't tried it myself yet.

Yeah, tube amps are good, just a little expensive... But definatly worth it, although it'd suck if you blew a valve and were totally out of cash.
