This is the plan thread for my Easter/Summer build (probably Summer, but WTH).

I'm going to go for a more traditional RG/ESP M shape for this one.

Woods/construction:
Cedar, ash, or alder for body wood,
Flamed maple veneer (thin wood, NOT photo finish),
Three piece laminated through-neck w/ maple-purpleheart-maple,
Ebony fingerboard - 24 frets, 25.5" scale, 16" radius,
No inlays.. just side dots,
Slanted fingerboard end and angled neck pickup.
Trans-black dye finish.

Hardware:
Irongear Steamhammer bridge, and Irongear Jailhouse Raile neck pickups,
Licensed double-locking Floyd Rose w/ locking nut and tension bar,
One volume, one tone, killswitch, and neck-ON on DPDT element of push-pull vol.
All hardware will be black.

Oh, and I'll have my RR24/Alexi finished before I start this.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

Get a Tremologic trem instead, its a locking trem, but you can bend each string seperately!

Watch the video, Justin Hawkins was talking about them in Guitarist, they look insane in the demo.

*page with price on finally loads, 570 Euros* maybe not...

Well, guided curves and other guitars as templates, then an amalgamation of all to get what I wanted.

Oh, were you thinking about getting a Craft Supplies ebony board? They rang me up, about 4 months till they get any in stock.

Meh, I was! What a bunch of wankers. Their wood stock is dead atm.

Thanks for the heads-up though.

I'm tempted by one of these, but in black (if I can get it):

Yeah, I played some guitar with Wilkinson trems at the LGS, they're brilliant, really really smooth. They don't have Kingswood either, well they do, but you have to radius it yourself. And making radius blocks is a pain.

yes, he should definitely make it a seven string. it would be orgasmic.

even if you dont make it a 7 it would still kick ass. I love the design and those heel contours are really nice

I'd love to build a 7 string, but I wanted something to use some hardware I have already, which is for a 6.
