Hey UG, I just had a question about a song. I think this is the correct forum. If not, I'm sorry, can you tell me where to go?

Anyways, I was listening to the song Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam, and I noticed a lot of similarities in the guitar work to Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing, also baring similarity to SRV's cover.

Can anyone confirm if Yellow Ledbetter is sort of like, Pearl Jam's version of Little Wing?

Thanks guys.

Well i guess its their "unspoken tribute" to little wing. They even play both songs together on some occasions. Here's a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bafh4f3SVKs I dont think that anyone in Pearl Jam has stated that it actually is a tribute but with that kind of playing you got to take it that way

Great song, I've seen em play it live twice. Mike McReady has said numerous times that his biggest influences are SRV and Hendrix, so there you go. Also, I love it when they mix it with Little Wing, those guys are scary-good live.
