A really good amp in that price range would be the Marshall MG250DFX I have had one of these amps for over a year now and it works and sounds great I have played a few gigs with it and its plenty loud it has 2 12" speakers and 100W

I don't reccomend getting tubes in that price range

so his 2 choices so far are, something that will last a while but sound like crap,
or something that will sound AMAZING but has a very good chance of making him use his warranty card.

Anywho. you can get a Peavey Vypyr 2x12 combo which will be plenty loud in that price range.
If you'll have access to a PA system to mic yourself up for a lil more volume, you're options open up even more.
You can get a blackheart 15w and a tubescreamer in that price range.

^^DONT BE AFRAID OF MG's.

I own one and it sounds fine, but please just try it out before you hate on it.

I used to think my 10 ss amp sounding ****ing amazing. I upgraded my amp and realised it sounded absolutely horrible.

I used to think the 100 SS amp i now have sounded orgasmic. Sometime early this year I played a fender tube combo and i realise my amp, which i thought was great, wasn't that much better than the 10 watt. Sure it was louder and it did actually sound a fair bit better but it was no fender tube combo.

My freind, lachlan, was exactly the same. I was saying how bad his 50 watt MG sounded. He replied with "No way dude, check this **** out" and then belted out a few AC/DC songs. "Tell me that doesnt sound great!" He had the mids scooped all the way with treble and gain maxed and it sounded like kittens being fucked with a stapler.

Three months later he got a blackheart tube combo and thanked me for suggesting to ditch the MG.

You don't need two threads on the EXACT same thing.

Delete one, or I'm reporting both.

He had 3 at one point.
