Okay, i know i said my dad said no about modding my guitar but maybe i can persuade him..... if not i can always bookmark this thread until he does...

Anyone got a suggestion on some really bluesy pick-ups for my stratocaster? Within reasonable price range.....im not going to put 80$ a piece pick-ups in.....

I mainly play delta blues for anyone who wondered. I know that doesnt sound great on electric, but i do some improv and stuff too.

I do some soling sometimes so maybe something a little twangy on the highs and mids.

I dont want a really hot sound.

I plan on putting some of these in the neck and middle position of my strat

Is this a fender strat or a copy?
The stock strat pickups are very bluesy.
Use the neck pickup and roll off a bit of the tone.

The lead pickup is often quite shrill on a strat because there is no tone control to roll off the highs.

I don't have a specific model in mind, but if you're playing blues, I would recommend that you start with alnico magnet pickups.
Wire is personal preference, but I love formvar wire pickups for blues.
I'd go with something from GFS though.

Ow.

Um, a pickup upgrade won't do much with that amp.
You might as well save up for an EVJ or something.
