im trying to get a good tone for recording, (i love rock tones.) and the tones in the br1600 recorder are horrible, i have a boss gt8 but cant really dial it in right and dont really want to record by microphone through my amp because i dont have any good microphones, so what is a good multi fx processor to use for doing basic home recording? Or if there is a site for the boss gt8 for good tones.

If you want to try a Line 6 Toneport, it sends the guitar the computer and you set up amps/settings/effects on your computer.

i'm not a big fan of DI guitar either. sometimes u have to get lucky with ur pickups and pedals... though i've never found a guitar tone that I even considered half decent via DI

i have tons of great amps i love and get tones i love out of but have no clue how to get good tones from recording by microphone, and the only mics i have are sm58s or whatever the main singing ones are that people use.
