Might be a stupid question but what is the difference between a Phaser and a Flanger?
Schecter C-1 Classic
Seagull entourage Mini-Jumbo
Crate V18
Vox V847 wah
the sound
its hard to explain, flanger is USUALLY but not always a little more intense, and phase is also USUALLY but not always more subtle
both cool effects, but you really go to try them out

right Metallica is a given. Personally I like to pretend the bus exploded and killed them all in '86.

phasers sound more lush, flangers a little more metallic.

the riff from unchained by van halen uses a flanger. the intro to santeria uses a phaser.
