dont change string gauge for one song... because then you wont be able to get into standard... i use 13's for drop c so for drop a they should work well.

how the hell can you stand 13s. i had 13s before and i hated em. i have 10s and i go down to drop a all the time and they are fine.

Ernie Ball 'Beefy' strings are PERFECT for drop tuning. For me at least.

What gauge are you using now? .9's?

I suggest .10's or .11's.

Edit: Read that as Drop D.

Still, what gauge are you using now?

Let me clarify..
.10's would be the set that has a high E string that is guage .10 right? IF yes, then I' using .10's.

So, .11 or .12 would be good, right?

Well, on my seven string (tuned AbDbAbDbF#BbEb) the lowest string is a .65, otherwise it's just normal 10-52s. If you're playing a 24.75 scale guitar you might want to try a 70. If you're playing a 24" scale, don't even bother. My Jagmaster gets muddy below Db.

A .70 gauge low E string? Dude, I'd like to keep my hand from turning into a Callous, thank you xD
