Can you get some good tone with pedals?? I would like to get something similar to mesa boogie triple rectifier...
I want to buy these pedals - Ibanez ts-9 tubescreamer, Boss mt-2 distortion, Boss equalizer pedal, and digitech digi delay.

Mesa in a box is a hard one to come by... Closest I have seen is a Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 Tube Amp Emulator or a Tech 21 California SansAmp Character Series CS-CA Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal

You will not get anything close to a Triple Rectifier with pedals.

Just sell the FM212R and put some more money towards a good amp. If you can't get a Triple Recto, get a nice amp with good overdrive, and an overdrive pedal to boost it into Triple Recto territory if needed.

what amps do you suggest? i need amp that is enough loud to jam with a band and to play at gigs.

The B52 AT-212 would do you good. It is a Mesa clone that sounds fairly close if EQ'd properly. Most of the people around here will tell you it has decent tone as well.

What's your budget and what kind of stuff dyou play? You could look into a B52.

Go for a Metal Muff or a Krank Distortus Maximus. Also consider a Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion.

Sure, you could sell your amp and get a tube amp, but that's really a pain the ass, and expensive. Your call, mate.

This is a fine case of "You Can't Get There From Here". No amount of pedals is gonna make an entry level amp sound like a high end deal with the click of a button. Pedals aren't meant to completely change your sound...more like icing on the cake. The Ts9 really isnt going to do much with this amp except add a touch more gain on top of the MT-2 (which really isn't going to help). I will say the Metal Muff is a great buy as far as metal pedals go though. Maybe give one a shot?

Too late.....but you'll pay for it. and at that price point you can begin to think of upgrading your amp.

Also it's discontinued
