alirght my cable keeps on getting shorts in it and i am wondering if i should get one of those ones with the all metal body. should i?

If you've only got one cable and have had it for a long time then th wiring might be wearing out. Just get a new cable, i reccomend planet waves. Also have more than one cable for a backup

EDIT: about the ones with the all metal body, theyre supposed to be great but my bassist had one and after a few months the wiring came loose in the jacks. Regular cables are good enough.

Yeah, you should be more gentle. You can get a new plug for the cable instead of spending money on a whole new cable.
