Hey I am looking at a valveking, a b-52, and a fender blues jr. As of right now.

I play metal, classic rock and things like that ie metallics, gnr, Zeppelin, acdc etc.

Are these good amps, and if so, which is the best.

I'd look into a Peavey Classic.
It does classic rock better than those 3, and can get enough gain for metallica, with an OD.

How much is that for each size

huh?

+1 to Classic 30, if you don't like that, then the B-52 would be my choice.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

The 30 (what I recommend) is about 600 new, but they are very common used for prices around 300 dollars. The 50 watter can be found for 500 dollars used, though.

id also second the classic 30. you definatly can get a metallica gain out of it, especially boosted with an od. you can pick up a bad monkey for 50 dollars, thats what i use with mine. i paid 325 for mine in great condition. they commonly go for about that.

Yeah, it has 2 channels. It's footswitchable too, I believe.

it is footswitchable. any two button switch works with it. like a marshall or vox. 1st switch does reverb on/off second is channel

What would be better, a mxr distortion + or a ibanez tube screamer to beef it up?
#12
A tubescreamer would be better to boost it.
