I want to play some In Flames and maybe Bodom. I've already tuned down to drop C, and that's working pretty well for me but I can't a good distorted tone from my amp. So I ask you, UG, is it wort to get a something like DS-1 now, or just put towards a new amp (but that's not going to happen soon)? I think if I get a good stompbox now it will be also useful well I get a better amp, but I'm wondering if it will too much for the small SS amp to handle.
Thoughts?

But would be enough to do the death/thrash sound?

A DS-1 will get you decent distortion.. especially since you're only using a 15 watter anyway.
I use an Orange Tiny Terror, and know exactly what you mean. If you're looking for a better pedal, you could always look at like, a different Boss pedal, but since you're still using solid state amps, you might want to either save up for a better amp (tube), or a multi-effects thing (like a POD).
