Hi everyone, and merry christmas. I just got this new laptop, with pro-tools on it (thanks to my awesome cousin) but when I go to get on pro-tools, it says "Unable to locate M-Audio hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on" So... I kinda want to fix this so I can start recording, what should I do? I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place, and I'll close it down if I need to. thanks everyone!

You do have M-Audio hardware, right?

Without it, Protools won't work.
If that's the case, try Cubase or Adobe Audition or something similar. Even though the two I mentioned are two totally different leagues of software.
I deeply regret the 6661 in my username. Siiiigh. Damn you, 14 year old me, you edgy little bastard.

You need the hardware.

In protools, you dont pay for the software. THe software's not that good. It's the hardware you pay for. Thats the awesome bit.

My laptop will run the software fine, we're sure of that. My cousin just has to install cubase onto it. I thought thats what the problem was, thanks guys.

The problem is NOT the lack of Cubase.

The problem is the lack of HARDWARE supported by protools.

Example: M-box.

The software will NOT work without an M-box.

Go online and buy one. Bout 300 quid. Worth every penny IMO.
