im sorry they were awful...

I'd go for the following bands:

The Ataris
Bad Religion
Big D and the Kids Table
Bouncing Souls
Flogging Molly
Less Than Jake
NOFX
Streetlight Manifesto

Don't really like what the tour represents and a significant portion of the people who go there, but if I could I think I would go there solely for those bands.

How do people like this band? It's like they're bad on purpose.

Check out their latest album, Strictly Rude; it's their most refined effort and it's pretty decent. Good listening, even if you don't like generic ska-punk/reggae or dub (although I don't know many people who actively dislike reggae/dub!) Anything from before How It Goes (2003) is kinda raw, but if you like ska-punk there's a fairly good chance Big D will be in your top 5/10.

EDIT: And not that this is a reflection on their music or anything, but they're really nice guys. I saw them play an intimate gig in Exeter last year and they were so good at interacting with the fans and half of the set were direct fan requests. It enhances my appreciation of them.
