I searchbar'd, didn't find anything, so here goes..

This year my dad had a crazy idea to hang our tree upside down from the ceiling and then decorate it. Now everyone who visited thought the idea was great. Apparently about a hundred years ago, Estonian farmers (I'm Estonian, but only visit the country during holidays) used to do it all the time like this, probably to save space.
It wasn't until the German invasion during WWII when they thought us the "proper" way.
So just wondering if anyone here has ever tried this? What do you think about it?

You can buy them with the base where the top would be.

Of course the Germans thought it was the right way, trees are planted in the ground, not on ceilings

It's not a new idea, sorry sweetie.

Well I've also seen christman trees hanging from the ceiling, but I haven't seen treest actually upside down with the wider part above and the tip slightly missing the ground.

If this is true, it is most likely due to the fact that trees grow out of the ground.

I'm sorry, but how could it possibly be a 'great idea'?

Stem cell research was a great idea, abolishing slavery was a great idea, the NHS was a great idea. Hanging a tree upside-down is a fucking stupid idea.

Isn't having a tree inside for your entertainment a pretty stupid idea in the first place?

I'll ignore you seeing as :
1. You need to use foul language and bypass the censor
2. You have the communist sign in you sig ( for me, being Estonian (once Soviet
Union), that equals a ticket to hell.

If you're going to ignore me, then fucking ignore me. Don't directly confront me, because that's the opposite of ignoring.

well seeing as our christmas tree is four times longer than it is wide, It hink it's no problem , and crossing it with the regular shape would give it more of a strange pointy hourglas figure.
