I like to put Jazzy parts and odd interludes in my music so a great clean channel and an effects loop is key.

I am getting a head as price is not a big issue and i prefer it that way.
Do not complain.

That's a lot of different tones. Which ones are your main priorities?

Yo wassup, I'm trying to expand my musical horizons if you know what I mean, so can anybody reccomend me some cool Juggalo jazz?

Great Cleans And Distortion Channel.
Overdrive Channel Not Very Needed.

The bands i like the tines of the very most of the forementioned would be Opeth, Dream Theater, Necrophagist, and BTBAM.
In that order.

Ehh its not a big problem but i want the head to be Circa 800-900 at most.
Im getting the head used with an EQ pedal for finishing touches.

JSX, I mean, I like my 6505, but you won't to nail Opeth/Dream Theater/BTBAM cleans with it.

Well Opeths guitar uses laneys. VC series and john from Dream Theatre plays dual recs. I would personally go for a laney

I thought Petrucci used Mark IVs?
Oh well.

My Rythymn guitarist has a Dual Rectifier and im not a fan of it.

Yeah petrucci uses a Mark IV

Word.

Anyway the 6505s are out due to poor cleans.

JSX vs. LANEY vs. OTHER

Laney GH series (not VH) is single channel, so unless you roll the vol. knob down for cleans, they're out.

At least you mentioned that you needed good cleans, 'cause the 5150 is better than the JSX for half of those bands (imo).

I got the wrong amp series then.

Will nice subtle chorus fix the poor cleans?
Or should i just get The JSX.

I've heard that a chorus gives the 5150/6505 nice cleans but I've never tried it myself.

If by "clean" you mean "get a finger right up in there and do a good bit of spelunking" then i guess "at any given opportunity" is my answer.

Were you thinking of the VH series maybe?

I would say JSX.

Im thinking a 5150 + with a slow bassy chorus might take away the harshness.

Now its 5150+ vs. JSx
#17
You should get a Freyette
#18
Judging by my bugera 333xl (Which im led to beleive is a copy of the JSX) the cleans are pristine!
Could do with a tiny bit more gain on the lead channel, but otherwise, it does Opeth well

PCSpeaker is right,

Damn right I am.

Bugera 333xl > Crybaby Wah > Marshall Guv'Nor > Boss SD1 > J&D Les Paul / Vintage Lemon Drop / Modded HSH Squier / Vintage Warp / Standard Squier Strat /Tanglewood Acoustic!

I'll tell you what, my JSX combo with a Maxon OD808 will get into SICK metal territory. I almost like it better than my 6505. Seriously.

So if i get an overdrive it will remedy the lack of balls to the wall brutality?

I currently have a SS 6505 Imitation and my gains at 6 or 7 most of the time.
So maybe an overdrive pedal would be good with a JSX.
Worst case Scenario ill get a 333xl with a warranty and a TS808.
Ohhhh baby

EDIT: ILL HAVE EXTRA FOR AN EYE OF GOD!
Sorry, GAS tourettes.
As a fellw peavey fan ill probably take your word on the comparison.
As you own both of them.
