This is a rough draft. I'm just asking for some crit to see if you guys think it's worth finishing. It's meant to be sung somewhat like Angel From Montgomery by John Prine.

Why is this preacher's,
Sermon in vain?
Why are his worries,
Only what I donate.

Get me a good book,
And i'll try to mold my life according to.
(pause)
What I find right
Just dont hang me out to dry-yyiii

Find me my lonely,
Hand to hold on to.
Guide this new man,
Through all walks of life

Get me a good book,
And i'll try to mold my life according to.
What I find right.
(Sung louder, Possible ending phrase?)Just dont hang me out to drrryyyy....

This is my first attemp at writing a song. I've done poetry, but songwriting is a bit harder concept to grasp. I'm planning on patching it up and adding more if you guys think that it has the potential to be a good song.
