I was looking into speed picking and i was influenced by yngwie malmsteen mainly. I have a few questions that i need help with

Does how you hold the pick affect your speed?

How you do improve your picking speed?

What are some good scales to work out both hands?

1. yes you need to angle the pick to get a greater speed
2.buy a metronome and start a 80 and work your way up
4. fmajor and a flat

^80 bpm is way too fat. A metronome is NOT a speedometer, it's simply there to help you play in time.

You forget about speed and instead focus on playing accurately, cleany and in time whilst improving your knowledge of the instrument so you know where to go to get the sound you want....there's no point being able to play fast if it takes you 10 seconds to find a note that's in key.

That's it.
