im looking at upgrading amps from my behringer 15W modelling amp to something a bit bigger, i was looking at the 120W Randall RX120DHS Half Stack
http://www.musicland.co.uk/images/prod/RX120DHS_HALF_STACK.jpg
which is about $700AU in my local music store.
does anyone have any better amp suggestions? ps im already a bit over budget $400-$600. and i like to play rock-heavy metal.

do you play huge gigs? either way you probably don't need 120 watts.
you can find a used tube amp with a metal voicing for that price.
Ibanez S320 with Dimarzio Fred + Seymour Duncan 59-> Weeping Demon Wah -> Ibanez TS-7 -> Homemade iBoost x3 -> Keeley DS-1 -> Visual Sound H2O -> MXR Ten Band -> Traynor YCV20

Yes.

50 tube watts means at about 3 you can gig with it standing alone.

120 solid state watts is about 7 or 8 and you can gig alone and it'll sound like poo.

well can you guys reccomend something that isnt tube and has a detacthable head?

What's your reasoning for this? A solid state stack is no good unless you're paying the big bucks..and even then.

And a tube combo is louder and can be smaller and more practical.
