So guys, here's the story. I have a really cheap bass that I bought a few years ago, and this Christmas, my parents were kind enough to bless me with the gift of a bass amp. So, I'm thinking it's time to upgrade my crappy bass to the standards of this wonderful amp that a family friend pointed us in the direction of.

So, could you all kindly suggest to me a bass somewhere around $600-$800 USD? My styles are jazz, funk, ska, as well as most other forms of rock, so I need something versatile. The amp's an SWR WorkingPro 12 as well, just to give you some more to go on.

Thanks in advance.

look at Ibanez, Schecter, Fender, and Traben.

of those, look hardest at Ibanez and Fender.

I wouldn't call what we have here on the Bass Forum a mentality. It's more like the sharing part of an AA meeting.

I say a Fender Jazz, or a deluxe P with a P and a J pickup. Ibanez's are also good, and have some good active basses at good prices, which should give you even more versatility.
