ok so i've been reading some reviews (on UG) about telecasters. Ive gathered this:

squire telecasters match their price. they are cheapley made. their consistancy sucks, and the paint chips off on many models.

fender telecasters are of high quality, though they are still slightly fragile. the only problem with fender teles are that their a little pricey for me

let me know if this information is correct.^

many of my styles are just rythem oriented. i'm really into Johnny Ramone's styles of play... would a telecaster suit this style?

i currently have this guitar:

my amplifier is a 12 watt that came from this guitar:

well I suggest you to get something like a Fender HS Telecaster or HSS stratocaster.
An Epiphone SG would do awesome as well.

5. You didn't notice that there was no #4.
6. You just checked it.
7. Now you're having a lil smile.

I've actually heard the Squier Standard Teles are better than the Strats. But hey if you are looking at alternatives check SX, I've got a les paul special knock off by them and it ain't bad at all, nice guitar for the price. http://www.rondomusic.com/electricguitar-ss3.html

Fender Squire isn't a real bad guitar, it just ain't real good.

Fender Teles are decent guitars. All guitars are fragile - even the one that costs $10000.

That Starter Pack guitar is, well, it's crud. You probably couldn't buy a much cheaper guitar. Anything you buy at this point is going to be oodles better - even if it's Made In Mexico (MIM).

That Esteban amp is probably also cheap. I don't own one, but I was playing my Fender Telecaster through a Roland Microcube today. I'm not big on those small amps, hence the reason I don't own one, but I have to tell you the tone was amazing. So, even if you were to buy a small Microcube, you'd be far better off than you are right now.
