Hey guys, i have 120AUD to spend on a pedal and i could bump it to 135-140.
I'm looking for a nice thick distortion to handle Trivium/Killswitch/Opeth.
Here are some websites:

For $120AUD?

You'll need a bit more than that if you want something decent. You could probably get a BOSS DS1 with that much, but that won't play what you want it to, maybe a Turbo Distortion with $140 if you find one on special, but that still probably wouldn't suit you.

You'd need something more along the lines of a Metal Muff or a BOSS ML2, which are both more than $140AUD.

Boss DS-1 are 79 bucks :P
I've so far found Danelectro Liquid Metal, MI Audio Crunch Box (Can it do those bands i listed?), or i could get used Metal Zone for 80 Bucks.

Dont get the Boss or the Danelectro. They might be cheap, but they are pretty bad compared to the Crunchbox. I dont think the crunchbox could do KSE/Opeth though. See if you can find a cheap (even second hand) MI Audio Tubezone, that should be able to get heavy enough.

there is a pedal on ebay called, MOEN Violent Metal... ever heard of it?

The Heavy Metal is okay from what I've heard of them, but I've never actually played one myself.
#9
Ok, can the Warp Factor do Metalcore?
What does the WARP knob do? (nub question)
I'm not to sure bout it because it doesn't have low mid high.

Can you get a EHX Metal Muff? Even the lowest one would probably be a good little investment.

This is the best distortion pedal ever made imo.
Unforuneatly .... you'll have to bump the budget up a little but they're about $450 new so this is a damn good price.

Out of those 3 I would take the warp facotr.
Go and try a Boss metalcore if you can. I remember playing one 2 years ago when i had a pretty average ear for tone. I do remember it being pretty good though.

Guys, my mate is going out to try a Boss MT-2 MC-FX 3 way switch mod, it's pretty much like Keeleys. Is it worth it? My mate reckons he can get it for round $100.

I've always hated the MT2 its so..... grainy and soaked in highs.
For a $100 its not a bad deal but make sure he's happy with it.
Also why are you guys buying distortion pedals?
You might as well save up for a nice amp and save yourself money down the track.
