i'm looking to buy an amp that can get thrash-metal and punk tones without pedals, 'cause pedals are a hassle. like, krank sound without the krank price, y'know what i mean?

my budget's $450, and i'd prefer something with tubes...

i was set on getting a crate V100H and V212B cab, or V50, and using a boss metalzone, but i'm starting to think that thrash sounds outta a classic-type amp aint such a good idea.

im completely clueless on what i want, need some insight, halp plz.

The crate can actually handle metal surprisingly well.

Crate V33 212 Combo
DigiTech Whammy IV
Dunlop Crybaby
MXR Classic Distortion
Ibanez DE-7 Delay

metal zone isnt the greatest pedal around, keep that in mind.

Randall makes killer solid states, for around $500.

Check out bugera. If you up your budget by just $100, you can have a 2 channel amp with reverb that sounds like a 5150/6505. Its called a Bugera 6260 I beleive.

Anytime. I would def just save the extra and get that, it's full tube, 120w, with reverb and a **** ton of gain. Go get it and rip!
