Hi
Yesterday i got my first tube amp and its great and much better then what i had before but i have a few questions. First am i supposed to hear a popping noise when i turn the amp off? and secondly should i hear a quitter popping/clicking noise when i change channels?

That pop is fine, C30's don't have standby switches on it to prevent that.
The channel change pop is normal too, don't worry about it.
Enjoy your new amp! Congrats!

YOu have to make sure the tubes warm up before you start playing the amp, and let them cool before you shut it off. Also you may hear a little noise switching etc.
Classic 30 is a great amp enjoy!!

for the popping when you turn it off, it helps to play at lower volumes and clean channel, especially if you were playing at really loud volumes, right before you switch it off. It helps cool down the tubes before shutting it down

Another question about the warranty the Manuel says the warranty is:
2 Years *(+3 Years)
*denotes additional warrant period applicable if optional Warranty Registration Card is completed and returned to Peavey by original retail purchaser within 90 days of purchase

would this mean that if i send the thing in it becomes 3 years or it adds on 3 years to become 5?

TBH, I was never crazy about the Classic 30. I mean, they are good amps. but not up my style.

That's completely pointless. Nothing is going to help them cool down, and even then it doesn't matter if they cool down before you turn it off.

The_Hip:

Both of those popping noises are completely normal, and by the sounds of it, the registration card makes your warranty 5 years.
